Dead Key
The characters and are only displayed on the screen in conjunction with
another character.
Example:
Dead key + valid character, e.g. key ' and key a produce á.
Dead key + invalid character, e.g. key ' and key b produce 'b and a beep
tone.
Dead key + space bar, e.g. key ' and space bar produce '.
Ctrl
Ctrl Key (Control, key control)
When the Ctrl key is held down and another key is pressed, special
functions are performed. For particulars of these functions, please refer to
the user's manual for your operating system or to the user's manual for
the relevant application program.
Alt
Alt Key
For all functions of this key, please refer to the manual for your operating
system or to the manual for the relevant application program.
Alt Gr
Alt Gr Key (e.g. German keyboard)
To produce a character shown on the right-hand side of a key (e.g. the
character "\"on the "ß" key), hold down the Alt Gr key and press the
required key. For all functions of this key, please refer to the user's
manual for your operating system or to the user's manual for the relevant
application program.
Space Bar
Pressing the space bar causes the cursor to shift one position to the right
and the existing character to be replaced by a space.
Backspace
Backspace Key
The backspace key moves the cursor to the left and deletes the character
to the left of the cursor each time it is pressed.
Enter
Enter Key (return, line feed, carriage return, CR)
In the operating system the Enter key is mainly used to terminate a
command line. The command entered is executed when the Enter key is
pressed. For the other uses of this key, please refer to the user's manual
for your operating system or to the user's manual for the relevant
application program.
