Glossary
Download
The process of transferring the parameter set which has been modified offline in the
SOPAS ET configuration software from the PC to the NAV210. SOPAS ET either transfers a
complete copy to the random access memory (RAM) of the NAV210 (Communication menu,
Download all parameters to the device) or only the parameters which have just been edited
(Communication menu, DOWNLOAD MODIFIED PARAMETERS TO DEVICE). Using the menu
NAV210, Parameters, Save permanently, the parameter set is saved permanently in the
EEPROM of the NAV210.
Parameter set
Data set which is used to initialize and activate the implemented functions in the NAV210.
It is transferred from the NAV210 to SOPAS ET and vice versa by uploading or downloading.
Remission
Remission is the reflective quality of a surface. The basis for this is the Kodak standard,
which is well-known globally in various applications, including photography.
Scan
A scan covers all established measured values relating to the scanning angle and the
mirror rotation speed.
SOPAS ET
Configuration software which is used for the offline configuration (adjusting to the local
reading situation) and the online operation of the NAV210 in the dialog box.
Upload
The process of transferring the parameter set from the NAV210 to the PC into the SOPAS ET
configuration software. Parameter values are displayed in the index cards in the configuration
software. This is a requirement if you wish to modify the current parameter set.
