Passwords
If you set a password, only a person who knows the password can use certain
functions of your notebook. The password feature protects your data from
unauthorized access and helps prevent computer virus infections. Two types of
passwords (the supervisor password and the user password) limit the following
access in different levels:
•
Starting the System
•
Opening the Setup Utility
•
Reading from and Writing to Floppy Disks
•
If you lose your password, you will be unable to access the notebook or
change the configuration. Make sure to select a password you will
never forget, or write it down and protect it in a secure place.
Otherwise, you will have to contact your dealer for assistance.
•
If you input the wrong password three consecutive times, the message
“SYSTEM DISABLED
’’
appears. Turn off the notebook, turn on
again, and input the correct password
.
