HOW TO USE THE FAX FUNCTION

Special Functions

When using the original table:

1

Confirm that there are no
documents in the SPF, and that
copying is not in progress, then
open the original cover.

Place the document face down on
the original table. Align the
document according to the original
scale in the illustration below.
(Line up the centre of the edge of
the document with the ( ) mark.

• Adjust the resolution and/or contrast

settings if desired.

Gently close the original cover.

Note: When using the original table, do not set documents in the SPF.

Press the BOOK SEND key.

Select the document size A4 or B4
from those displayed.

• Adjust the resolution and/or contrast

settings if desired. Note however that
you cannot use the HALF TONE
resolution setting with B4 size
documents.

Press the BOOK SEND key to scan
the page into memory. If you have
more than one sheet to read into
memory, place the next page, and
press the BOOK SEND key to read
each page.

Continue with steps 4 and 5 in the
previous section, “Using the SPF”.

Note: If the document is removed from the document feeder tray after a transmission

reservation is set, the reservation will be canceled.
