Install the driver according to the instructions on the screen. Generally when you
connect the device to the computer, the necessary driver will be installed
automatically.

Start the appropriate application for handling your data.
Disconnecting IEEE 1394 Device
In Windows 2000
1. Click
Unplug or Eject Hardware icon (
) on the taskbar.
2. Click
Stop xxxxx (xxxxx is the name of your IEEE 1394 device.).

Click OK; then, remove the DV cable from the computer.
In Windows XP Professional
1. Click
the
Safely Remove Hardware icon (
) on the taskbar. If you cannot find
the icon, click
to show all kinds of icon. If the icon does not appear, go to
Step 3.

If the name of your device appears, click Safely remove xxxxx (xxxx is the name
of your IEEE 1394 device.); then, Safe To Remove Hardware dialog appears.

Remove the DV cable from the computer.
