1. Use the previous horizontal and vertical micrometer settings or set them to 5 as a starting
position.
Note:
To avoid reducing the performance of the mass spectrometer, do not spray directly in
the aperture.
2. In the control software, monitor the signal or signal-to-noise of the analytes.
3. Use the horizontal micrometer to adjust the probe in small increments to achieve the best
signal or signal-to-noise ratio.
4. Use the vertical micrometer to adjust the probe in small increments to achieve the best
signal or signal-to-noise ratio.
5. Adjust the black electrode adjustment nut on the probe to move the electrode tube in or out
of the probe (to adjust the protrusion).
