6.2 Connecting Rock Picker Hydraulic Lines to the Tractor
With the tractor shut down and secured in position,
relieve hydraulic pressure from the tractor by
moving the control levers back and forth several
times or placing the levers in the float position.
Keep implement hydraulic lines, hoses, quick
couplers, and swivels free of contamination. Never
leave a disconnected hose end open, and cap the
tractor hydraulic outlet ports when not in use. If the
tractor ports, Titan 5000 ports and hydraulic hose
ends become contaminated, wipe clean with a rag
before connecting.
Connect the hydraulic hoses to the tractor. The
smaller diameter hoses operate the hitch, grate,
and bucket cylinders and the larger diameter hoses
operate the hydraulic motor.
The hose with the female coupler connects to the
hydraulic motor case drain. Always connect the
case drain hose to avoid damaging the motor
components.
Allow some slack in the section of hoses between
the tractor and hose clamp, otherwise the hose may
tighten while traveling over rough terrain and cause
damage to the ports, brackets, or hoses.
If your Titan 5000 is equipped with a hydraulic flow
control valve for adjusting reel speed, the hydraulic
oil MUST ENTER the flow control valve through the
top port for correct operation. Arrange the hydraulic
hoses on the hose organizer.
Check the tractor hydraulic fluid
level after filling cylinders as the cylinders will take several liters out of the tractors hydraulic
system.
Do not operate this Equipment with hydraulic oil or fuel leaking. Oil
and fuel are explosive and their presence could present a hazard. Do
not check for leaks with your hand! High-pressure oil streams from
breaks in the line could penetrate the skin and cause tissue damage
including gangrene. To check for a hose leak, SHUT the unit ENGINE
OFF and remove all hydraulic pressure. Wear oil impenetrable gloves,
safety glasses and use cardboard to check for evidence of oil leaks. If
you suspect a leak, REMOVE the HOSE and have it tested at a Dealer.
If oil does penetrate the skin, have the injury treated immediately by a
physician knowledgeable and skilled in this procedure.
