8.4.7 Replacing the main contacts –
type C195 A/, B/, S/, T/, W/

Disassembly
DANGER
Before beginning any work on the con-
tactors, make sure that

there is no voltage present,
X
all safety regulations are fully ob-
served.
X
Be sure to observe section
“8.1 Safety” on page 32
.
X
Remove all connecting cables or busbars from the
main contacts, auxiliary switches and coil connec-
tions.
X
Disassemble the contact unit, see section
“Dis-
assembling/assembling the contact unit –
type C195 A/, B/, S/, T/, W/” on page 46.
X
Remove the cover, see section
“Removing/attach-
ing the cover – type C195 A/, B/, S/, T/, W/” on page
50.

Remove the armature at the bottom of the con-
tact unit, see section
“Disassembling/assembling
the armature – type C195 A/, B/, S/, T/, W/” on page
48.
X
Remove the contact bridge unit from the contact
unit, see section
“Disassembling/assembling the
contact bridge unit – type C195 A/, B/, S/, T/, W/”
on page 51.

If necessary, unscrew the two hexagon screws (16)
on the 2 main contacts (17) and remove the screws
together with washers.
X
Remove the two main contacts (17) upwards from
the contact unit (2).
ATTENTION
Depending on the contactor type, there are 0, 1 or 2
permanent magnets under the main contacts.
Installing the permanent magnets with the wrong
magnetic polarity (north pole, south pole) leads to
malfunctions and destruction of the contactor.

Do not remove permanent magnets!
