much better signal quality. Decreasing the
elevation mask ensures that more satellites are
used but with a poorer signal quality. The
elevation mask can be increased or decreased in
order to obtain a better RTK fix.
With the
Max. diff. age
setting it is possible to set
the time period wherein the system can work
without RTK-correction data.
With the
Diff. corr. Type
setting it is possible to
set the used correction data type.
Tap on
NMEA1
to open the NMEA1 tab (Figure
64). NMEA messages can be used to provide
external devices with GPS data such as position,
direction and speed. The messages are
transmitted over a serial interface port (RS-232)
by a 17-pin connector on the GeoStar (icon nr. 7
in Figure 2 or icon nr. 10 in Figure 3).
On the Viper 4 it is possible to connect to a 17-pin
connector if the adapter Viper 4 terminal harness
(SBG13711-11) is used. If a Viper 4 terminal
harness (SBG13711-09) is used the NMEA cable
can be connected to a sub D9-connector with the
label NMEA or VRA.
Tap the different keys to activate the correct
messages (green = active) and set the
Baud rate
and
Interval
.
Tap on
NMEA2
to open the NMEA2 tab (Figure
65). NMEA2 data is GPS data which is roll
compensated (terrain compensated). Furthermore,
the user can chose from which
Reference
(tractor
or implement antenna) the data is coming.
