Internal Span Adjustment
All LP balances are equipped with a built-in motorized calibration weight.
– Turn on the balance and allow it to warm up.
– Zero the balance, if necessary (press
t
).
– Press
q
; press
v
to select “
int. calibr.
” or “
int. adjust
” and press
q
to start the internal span adjustment.
– The built-in calibration weight is applied automatically, the weight is
stored, and the deviation from the last span adjustment is displayed.
Note:
Depending on the menu code setting (under 1 10 X), either calibration/ad-
justment is made automatically (code 1 10 1: calibrate, then auto-adjust), or
the deviation from the last calibration is displayed, but no adjustment is
made until you press a key (code 1 10 2: calibrate, then manual adjust).
– If the error exceeds the tolerance limits, press
q
to make the correspond-
ing adjustment, or press
c
to cancel the adjustment procedure.
– The balance then returns to the SELECT mode.
External Span Adjustment
There are two ways to perform external span adjustment:
1. with the Sartorius service software (PSION Server or SARTOCAS Service
Software for PCs) - if the adjustment error is greater than
±
2%, or
2. with the balance in the service mode, as described in this manual.
External Span Adjustment with Manual Input of Weight Values
Note:
You only need to input the calibration weight for span adjustment if:
1. the available weight is not sufficiently accurate (at least one digit greater
than the display accuracy), or
2. you are working with a weight other than the recommended weight (e.g.,
with a heavier weight, close to the maximum capacity).
– Press
e
to turn on the balance.
– The balance performs a self-test.
– When
0.00
g is displayed (depending on balance model), enter the ser-
vice password “
202122
” and press
M
.
– Press
v
to activate the INPUT mode.
– Press
Y
(several times) to select the “
cal./adj. weight
” menu item.
– Enter the conventional weight value, including all decimal places, using
the numeric keys.
– Press
M
to store the adjustment and exit the SETUP menu.
