Installing the Antennas
After you mount the CMAP on the cable strand, the next step is to install three 5GHz
antennas (sold separately).
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging the antennas, Ruckus Wireless strongly recommends that
you install the antennas only after you mount the CMAP on the cable strand and have
attached the strand coaxial cable to Connector B. See the preceding section.
To install the external antennas
1.
The CMAP supports up to three external antennas: two vertically-polarized antennas
and one horizontally-polarized antenna. These antennas are not included in the CMAP
package. To order these three antennas contact an authorized Ruckus Wireless reseller
and order:
Part Number 911-0636-VH02, which includes one horizontally- and one vertically-
polarized antenna, and
Part Number 911-0636-VP01, which includes one vertically-polarized antenna.
A sticker with the antenna part number identifies the polarity of each antenna:
•
911-0536-HP01
indicates that the antenna is
horizontally
polarized. (This antenna
is usually fatter and shorter.)
•
911-0636-VP01
indicates that the antenna is
vertically
polarized. (This antenna
is usually thinner and taller.)
Refer to
for the correct placement of each antenna.
2.
Locate the three N type female bulkhead connectors on the underside of the strand
interface. Two connectors are on one side of the strand interface and then another
connector is on the other side.
