8 | Storage
Store the Rothewald Multimeter in a room which is protected
from the elements. The temperature should be between -10°C and
+50°C with a humidity of not more than 80% (non-condensing).
Remove the battery if you do not intend to use the multimeter for a
prolonged period.
9 | Cleaning and care
The multimeter should be calibrated once a year to ensure
accuracy over a prolonged period. It is maintenance-free apart
from changing the battery and fuse.
9.1 | Cleaning
Use a soft cloth and a little mild cleaning agent to clean the
housing. Do not use harsh solvents, such as thinner or petrol, or
scouring agents or sharp-edged tools, as they will damage the
surface. Dispose of cleaning wipes and excess cleaning agent in
an environmentally friendly manner.
9.2 | Changing the fuse
Before opening the meter to change the fuse, first unplug the test
leads and set the rotary switch to "Off". Then use a suitable Philips
screwdriver to unscrew and remove the screws from the rear of the
housing and lift off the lower half of the housing.
CAUTION!
Risk of fire!
Using the wrong fuse can result in fire. Always
use fuses ("fast-blow") with the following
specification:
a. F 500 mA/500 V
b. F 10 A/500 V
