38
measurement category (up to 500 V max.
against earth potential, in accordance with
EN 61010-1).
• Even when measuring live components carrying
voltages of > 30 V AC or > 60 V DC, there is
a danger of potentially fatal electric shock if
electrical conductors are touched.
• Therefore, the device being tested should first be
de-energised. Then select the measuring range
and connect the meter to the device. Only then
should voltage be applied to the device. Whilst
measurement is in progress, keep your fingers
behind the shielding on the insulated handle.
• The multimeter must not be converted or
modified (for both safety and official approval
reasons) and is not intended for commercial
use.
• The multimeter must not be touched with damp
or wet hands.
• Always check all the cables and connections for
damage before use. Do not use the charger if
you discover any damage.
• The multimeter must not be used if it or the test
leads show any visible signs of damage.
• The multimeter must not be used shortly
before, during or shortly after a thunderstorm.
• Make sure that your hands, shoes, clothing, the
floor, circuits and circuit components etc. are
dry.
