field to specify the IP address of the DNS server that the NWE-IP will communicate with.

field to specify the new static IP Address for the
Gb1
port.

Subnet Mask
field to specify the subnet mask for the
Gb1
port.
9. Use the
Gateway
field to specify the gateway for communications outside of the local area network (LAN) the
NWE-IP will use.
10. Click
Apply
.
The NWE-IP automatically reboots and applies the changes.
Updating the NET1 Port Settings
By assigning an IP Address to the
NET1
port, you are able to uniquely identify it on the network and control it via
the DashBoard interface. Once these network settings are successfully assigned, you can proceed to configure the
NET1
port for media traffic for the NWE-IP.
To update the NET port settings for the NWE-IP
1. Display the
Global
interface as outlined in “
To display the NWE-IP interfaces in DashBoard
2. Select the
Ethernet
tab.
3. Select the
NET1
sub-tab.
4. Click
Edit
.
The fields are now editable on the tab.
5. Use the
Method
menu to specify
Manual
.
6. Use the
Address
field to enter the new IP Address for the
NET1
port as provided by your IT Department. This
is the IP Address that is used to control and communicate with the NET1 port.
7. Use the
Subnet Mask
field to specify the subnet mask for the NET1 port.
8. Set the
Gateway
field to
0.0.0.0
.
9. Set the
DNS
field to
0.0.0.0
.
10. Click
Apply
.
Setting up Protection Switching
This section is only applicable if your system requires protection switching (SMPTE ST 2022-7).
Before You Begin
Ensure that:
• your source is capable of sending SMPTE ST 2022-7 streams
• the NWE-IP is set up within a protection switching network
• the
NET2
port on the NWE-IP is cabled correctly
Configuring the NWE-IP for Protection Switching
You will need to assign a unique IP Address to the
NET2
port.
