2.2
Putting Up the Instrument
The instrument can be used in standalone operation or can be installed in a rack.
Risk of material damage
Make sure that the following conditions are met at the operation site:

The ambient temperature does not exceed the range specified in the data sheet.
●
All fan openings are unobstructed and the airflow perforations are unimpeded. The
minimum distance from the wall is at least 10
cm.
Failure to meet these conditions can damage the instrument or other devices in the
test setup.
If necessary, use proper protective equipment to protect DUTs against electrostatic dis-
charge in the event of human contact.
2.2.1
Placing the Instrument on a Bench Top
The R&S
DVMS can be used under general laboratory conditions.
► To prevent sliding on the bench, stick four rubber feet onto the provided recesses
at the bottom of the R&S
DVMS. These rubber feet are delivered as part of the
Chapter 2.1.3, "Checking the Accessories"
