Connection to a three-rail track
INFO:
In three rail mode, it is important that the polarity is correct as this could otherwise result
in functional disorders in older Motorola
®
decoder. Please use rocker pick-up shoes at the sepa-
rating points.
CAUTION:
Should it be necessary system-related, the outer rail can remain connected and only
the middle rail can be disconnected. This is not recommended however and you do so at your own
risk! It is also to be ensured that
only
Z21
®
-Boosters are used with the system!
CAUTION:
When using devices that are older and not RailCom
®
-compatible, the following is
to be taken into account with regard to shared separating points: if a Railcom cutout should be
generated in one section but not in the neighbouring section, micro short-circuiting would take
place when the locomotive crosses the shared separating point. For this reason, the RailCom
®
of
the Z21
®
-Boosters is also to be deactivated when using such set-ups (see Chapter: STOP Button
and Configuration).
Disconnect all three rails!
