ENTERING THE DATE
A typical example of a date might be the day you
first used a particular battery. The first time you
press the “ENTER” button causes the ‘day’ number
to flash, and you can then alter it using the “+” / “-”
buttons or the “SELECT WHEEL”. The current month and year can be set using the same
procedure. Finally press the “ENTER” button to store the date permanently.
STORING THE SETTINGS
At the end of the procedure you must press the
“ENTER” button in order to write (store) the newly
selected values onto the BID CHIP / KEY. The
charger will beep twice to confirm that the values
have been accepted, and the screen display reverts to the main menu (Output V). Note:
if you set new values, but then simply disconnect the BID chip / key without pressing the
“ENTER” button, the “old” values remain stored on the chip or key. Please bear this in
mind, as it could result in damage to the battery if you later charge or discharge it using
the wrong data!

CHARGE / DISCHARGE PROCESSES wITH BID CHIP / KEY
The pictures below illustrate the use of a BID chip and a BID key. First connect the BID
chip to the charger using the adapter lead (or connect the BID key directly - see pictures
below). At this point you can again access the “EDIT BID” menu to ensure that the set
data is correct for the connected battery. If the charge parameters on the chip are cor-
rect, press the “MODE” button to select the appropriate mode of operation. During a
charge or discharge process the essential data pertaining to this process is stored on the
BID chip / key.

TERMINATING A CHARGE / DISCHARGE PROCESS
The battery charger automatically terminates a charge or discharge process; the proces-
sor takes into account the set charge and discharge parameters. The charger selects the
optimum method of termination for each battery type. A series of beeps alerts you to the
end of the process.
