PROGRAMMING A BID CHIP
This parameter is only displayed if a BID chip / key
is connected; in this case the data stored on it is
displayed on-screen. See page 35 for more details.
EQUALIZER DATA
If a Lithium battery is connected to the charger using the primary power leads (b/-
) and the voltage sensor lead, the charger immediately starts to balance the pack. You
can observe this process by selecting the menu “EQUALIZER DATA”, which is accessed
by pressing the “+” or “-” button or the Select Wheel. Press the “ENTER” button to acti-
vate the menu point “EQUALIZER DATA”. If a pack containing more than six cells is con-
nected, the screen shows two alternating displays. To return to the main menu or the
working screen you have to press the “ENTER” button again.
Note:
the individual cell voltages can only be displayed if a voltage sensor lead is con-
nected to the charger.

CHARGE / DISCHARGE PROCESSES wITHOUT BID CHIP / KEY
The following settings must be entered before a charge or discharge process can be
started, to ensure that the charger has proper control over the process:
•
Connect battery, check for correct polarity (see wiring diagram on page 31)
•
Set battery type
•
Set cell count
•
Set charge current
•
Set discharge current
•
Set beeper (OFF / ON)
The method of setting these parameters has already been described in detail; once you
have completed the procedure, the charge or discharge process can be started. If you
wish to charge the battery connected to the unit (screen displays ‘CHARGING’), press the
“MODE” button once. Pressing the button a second time within one second activates the
discharge function (screen displays ‘DISCHARGE’). Pressing the “MODE” button three
times activates the cycle function (screen displays ‘DISC-CHAR X01’): you can set a cycle
repeat of to 99 times using the “+” / “-” buttons or the “SELECT WHEEL”. If you select
a mode, then make no further input (for approx. two seconds), the charger initiates the
process you have just selected. To interrupt the procedure, press the “MODE” button
again. If the voltage sensor lead attached to a Lithium battery is connected to the charg-
er (see page 31), balancing mode starts automatically.
