Types of jams
This is a list of the types of jams that may occur.
•
Paper feed failure on the paper tray
The machine stops after all previous copy paper is fed out into the copy tray, finisher shift tray, or
duplex tray.
•
Paper separation failure from the OPC
The machine stops immediately when the jam is detected.
•
A jam occured in the finisher
The machine stops the paper feed from the paper tray immediately. Paper on the finisher stops, and
paper on the copier is fed out into the copy tray.
•
Others
The machine stops one second after a jam is detected.
What happens after a jam
After a jam is cleared, recovery is started by closing the door. The copy job in progress when the
jam occurred can be continued or suspended. The operation is described below.
To continue copying
Paper remaining in the machine is automatically fed out
into the copy tray.
In the ADF mode, the originals are rearranged in order
and copying automatically starts from the original of the
jammed copy.
To suspend copying
Paper remaining in the machine is fed out automatically into the copy tray. In the ADF mode, the
originals are put in order. In the SADF mode, the original is fed out. The copy setting is returned to
1 and the operation display returns to its initial setting.
