SADF
When the original is set in the SADF entrance, the SADF
set sensor is turned ON to enter the SADF mode. At
this time, even if the original is set on the stack feed
table, the SADF mode is selected.
Both sides of the original are held by the original guides
and the original size is detected by the SADF size
sensor attached to the rack and on the back of the
original guide.
2.14.3 Original size detection
ADF/RDH
With the transfer of the original guides, the knob of the
size detecting sensor is moved to detect the size. When
LG or LT originals come, the length sensor is turned ON
by the movement of the original stopper.
SADF
With the transfer of the original guides, the knob of the
SADF size sensor is moved to detect size.
Function
Detected size is used for the automatic paper selection
and automatic magnification selection. The erasing size
is also determined by the detected size.
2.14.4 Original feed cycle end detection
A two-way solenoid is used to operate the recycle arm.
Once the position of the solenoid plunger is changed
according to the signals from the CPU, this solenoid
keeps its position until a different signal is generated.
This works using a permanent magnet installed in the
solenoid.
When a original feed signal (solenoid plunger pull signal)
is generated, the lever moves as shown by the arrow.
The recycle arm is moved along the recycle arm guide.
As the lifting pin is also moved along the pin guide, the
recycle arm tip raises. A magnet is attached on the
inside of the recycle arm guide. As the lift plate on the
recycle arm is attracted by the magnet, the recycle arm
moves up.
Next, the solenoid plunger release signal is generated
and the plunger moves in the opposite direction as
shown by the arrows. The recycle arm lifts all the way on
the original. After the original is fed from the original
table, it is returned to the table and covers the recycle
arm. After all originals are fed, the recycle arm moves
behind the lowest original and the recycle arm sensor
detects the recycle arm, meaning the end of one original
feed cycle.
