Printing PDF and PostScript files on the InfoPrint 5000 printer models
AD1/AD2, AD3/AD4, AS1, AS3, C900AFP and MD3/MD4 with hot folders
from InfoPrint Manager for AIX

To print PDF and PostScript files on the InfoPrint 5000 printer models AD1/AD2,
AD3/AD4, AS1, AS3, C900AFP and MD3/MD4 with InfoPrint Manager for AIX,
you use can use hot folders.

When you use hot folders, you must complete minor configuration tasks.

Verifying bos.cifs_fs fileset is installed

To print to an InfoPrint 5000 printer hot folder from InfoPrint Manager for AIX
requires the

bos.cifs_fs

fileset.

To verify that the

bos.cifs_fs

fileset is installed:

1.

Enter this command:

lslpp -l | grep cifs

2.

You see results similar to these:

Connecting to the InfoPrint 5000 hot folder

To connect to an InfoPrint 5000 printer hot folder from InfoPrint Manager for AIX,
you need to issue a mount command.

To issue a mount command:

1.

Log in as root.

2.

Enter this command for models AS1 and AS3:

>mount -v cifs -n

printerIPAddress

/none -o fmode=707 /simplex /mnt

3.

Enter this command for models AD1/AD2, AD3/AD4, C900AFP and
MD3/MD4:

>mount -v cifs -n

printerIPAddress

/none -o fmode=707 /duplex /mnt

4.

Press

Enter

when prompted to enter a password.

Note:

If either InfoPrint Manager for AIX or the InfoPrint 5000 printers are shut

down, you need to issue the mount command again.

Running scripts before printing PDF and PostScript files

All hot folders must be created from the InfoPrint 5000 printer operator panel. The
hot folders can have different job attributes, such as the actual destination to print
