InfoPrint System Migration Utility requires that the minimum level of InfoPrint
Manager is Version 4 Release 2 Version 2 Release 2. The utility does not support
Version 4 Release 1 Version 2 Release 1migrations. The tool will not limit the
migration from Version 4 Release 1 Version 2 Release 1 but the results might be
unpredictable.

Prerequisites

Before using the

ismu

utility, make sure you are aware of these recommendations:

v

To run this utility, you must have administrative rights on the system InfoPrint
Manager is running.

v

The InfoPrint Manager server(s) must be installed and running at all times.

v

The InfoPrint Manager target server(s) must not contain any objects.

v

To run the

ismu

utility, these programs must be installed on your machine:

tar, gzip, gunzip

and

diff

Note:

You can only run the

ismu

utility locally. This utility does not have network

functionality.

Migrating your InfoPrint Manager settings

Before migrating your InfoPrint Manager settings and objects, read the following
sections to find out more about what files are automatically backed up and what
files are not automatically backed up. For the files and settings that are not
automatically backed up, you should use the manual back up procedure.
