Four photo-interrupters [A] are used to detect paper width on the by-pass
tray. The sensor status changes depending on the side guide positions.
The above table shows the relationship between the sensor status and
recognized paper size. In the normal copy mode, the machine recognizes
that the paper on the by-pass table is set in sideways. In the moving original
scan mode, the machine recognizes that the paper on the table is set in
lengthwise.
