II.2.5 WATER
CONNECTIONS
IMPORTANT !
It is ver y important for the water conn ections to be
implemented with great care b y sp eci ali sed
personnel.
II.2.5.1 Connection to the System
Use threaded gas kets and suit able material f or the wat er connections to
the heat exchanger or t he val ves i n order to guarantee a perf ect s eal.
The unit is equipped wit h female input and out put fittings f or the 2-pi pe
and 4-pipe configurations. T he unit is also equipped wit h an air bleed
val ve t hat c an be handled wit h an 8 mm wrench.
IMPORTANT !
The coil can onl y be partiall y drain ed. To drain it
completel y, blo w air through the coil.

II.2.5.2 Setting up the condensate drain
For the condensat e t o fl ow correctl y, t he drain pipe must have a
downward 2% i nclinati on wit h no bottlenec ks . Furthermore, s et up a
siphon that c an be inspected and is at least 50 mm deep s o as to
prevent odours from ret urning int o the room.
50
2%
The wat er can be dr ained t o a level t hat is 200 mm higher than (max)
the unit, as l ong as the tract of the asc ending pipe is vertical and
positioned in line with t he drain flange.
To drain the wat er to a higher level than t hat allowed, i nstall an auxiliary
condens ate drain pump with a collec tion tray and level regul ator. We
recommend models wit h a saf et y fl oat that st ops the wat er flow if t he
pump malf uncti ons.
The pi pes mus t be covered wit h anti-condensate material, e.g.
pol yuret hane, polypropyl ene, neoprene or 5-10 mm expanded material.
If several units are installed in a room, t he c ondensat e drai n pi pes mus t
be ins talled as s hown in t he figure.
II.2.5.3 Setting up the w ater siphon
The condens ate drain s ystem mus t be set up with an adequat e siphon
so as to prevent t he i nfiltration of odours. The diagram below shows
how a water si phon is ins talled.
50 mm
100 mm
Always set up or inst all a plug in t he l ower part of the siphon so as t o
allow a rapid disassembl y for t he cl eani ng operations.
IMPORTANT !
Position the drain pipes so as not to mechani call y
stress the drain fitting of the unit.
