Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting Chart
The following charts detail common problems and solutions for the LensChek Plus/Pro.
ISSUE
SOLUTION
LensChek Plus/Pro has
no power.
Turn on the Power switch.
Press any button - LensChek Plus/Pro may be in sleep mode.
LCD Screen is blank.
Problem is damaged internal fuse or circuits. Replace fuses.
Inaccurate readings.
Clean the Nosepiece Lens.
Printer does not feed
paper.
Check printer to verify it contains paper.
Enable printer in the Data Output category on the Setup Screen.
Data does not print on the
paper.
Check paper; it may be installed in printer upside down.
Check printer to verify it contains thermal paper.
Pens do not mark lenses. Replace the Marking Pens.
Note:
For instructions, refer to Maintenance section of the manual.
Buttons do not respond.
Press the buttons more slowly.
Initial Error
Any of the measurement values is more than “±0.25”.
A lens is on the lens stand during startup. Remove the lens and restart the unit.
Abnormal measurement because of dust or unnecessary light. Clean the lens stand.
ERROR
SOLUTION
Paper Empty
Replace the Printer Paper.
Printer Cover Open
Close the Printer Cover.
Printer Overheated
Printer is overheating. Allow printer time to cool off.
EEPROM Failure
Abnormality of memory. Contact Reichert.
Sensor Error
Abnormality of CMOS sensor. Contact Reichert.
Errors # 100-163
Displays with a three-digit
number
Abnormality of electronic parts on the Control circuit board. Contact Reichert.
SPH Over
SPH measurement value is more than the upper limit of the measurement range.
CYL Over
CYL measurement value is more than the upper limit of the measurement range.
Prism Over
The prism measurement value is more than the upper limit of the measure-
ment range.
ADD Over
ADD measurement value is more than the upper limit of the measurement
range.
Measurement Error
Light path is obstructed due to dust or a scratch on the lens. (The measure-
ment light does not enter into the light receiving sensor normally.) Clean the lens.
Excess ambient light is interfering with the light path. Lower the lights.
Measurement light LED does not turn on. Contact Reichert.
Center Error
Excess ambient light is interfering with the light path. Lower the lights.
