d) Adjusting the shock absorbers
Front axle
Rear axle
At the upper end of the shock absorber, the adjustment of the spring preload can be performed by inserting plastic
clips.
The shock absorbers at the vehicle‘s front and rear axle can be mounted on top of the shock mount (B) and on the
lower transversal arm (C) using various positions. However, for this purpose the manufacturer has already chosen an
optimal position, so any change should be carried out by professional drivers only.
Always adjust equally the shock absorbers of an axle (at the left and right wheel of the front axle or of the rear axle),
otherwise the driving behaviour will affect them adversely.
Professional drivers can also use springs with a different degree of hardness or fill the shock absorber with a damper
oil of different viscosity. Also possible is the incorporation of aluminium shock absorbers, which are adjustable through
the thumb wheel.
As in a „real“ car, the vehicle‘s shock absorbers are (or the rubber seals in the shock absorbers) a wearing part. If the
oil from the shock absorbers drains out (e.g. transversal arm too oily, dripping trails), the seals or the shock absorbers
must be replaced.
