g) Activating the speed controller
Turn on the speed controller by moving the slide switch
(see image in Chapter 9. f) rightward, towards the motor
(switch position „ON“). Then wait a few seconds (keep the
gas/ brake lever on the transmitter in the neutral position,
do not move it).
If the vehicle‘s drive starts, although gas/brake
lever are in the neutral position on the transmit-
ter, adjust the trimming on the transmitter until
the motor stops.
If the trimming path is not sufficient, then pro
-
gramming of the neutral position is required;
see Chapter 10. a).
Check now the drive and steering functions of the vehicle.
For programming the speed controller, please refer to Chapter 10. b).
Important!
If a LiPo drive battery as drive battery is used, you should check the basic setting of the speed controller,
to see if the undervoltage protection is activated (normally 3.0 V/cell). Otherwise, if undervoltage detection
is turned off, a deep discharge of the LiPo battery occurs, which will destroys it.
If a NiMH drive battery is used, you should disable the undervoltage detection or set it to a lower value
compared to the LiPo battery; see Chapter 10. b).
The LED on the speed controller goes off in the neutral position or it lights up red when driving forward and backward.
When driving forward and at full throttle, the LED lights up green.
h) Placing and fastening the vehicle body
Pass the antenna tube from the underside of the vehicle body through the corresponding opening. Place the vehicle
body onto the mountings.
Insert the plastic spacers removed at the beginning and secure the vehicle body with the securing clips.
i) Steering the vehicle
Now, place the -ready to run vehicle on the floor . However, do not reach into the drive and do not hold the vehicle
firmly by the wheels.
Operate the transmitter’s throttle/brake lever for the driving function very carefully and do not drive too fast
in the beginning, until you have familiarised yourself with the vehicle’s reaction to the operating unit. Do not
move the operating elements of the transmitter quick and suddenly.
Never aim the transmitter‘s antenna directly towards the vehicle, as this reduces the coverage greatly. The largest
coverage is obtained when the transmitter‘s and the vehicle’s antennas are perpendicular and parallel to each other.
Should the vehicle have a tendency to pull to the left or right, then adjust the trimming for steering on the transmitter
accordingly.
