Function #4, green LED flashes 4 times briefly: Startup mode
The vehicle will start to move with more or less force depending on the setting. The higher the setting value, the
more current the motor draws from the connected rechargeable battery; so the rechargeable battery must be high-
performance.
A higher setting should only be used on unpaved surfaces, as paved surfaces may overload the motor (transmis-
sion, differentials).
•
Function #5, green LED flashes five times briefly: Maximum brake force
The speed controller offers a proportional brake force depending on the position of the transmitter lever. The maxi-
mum brake force at full deflection is adjustable between 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.
A higher setting (e.g. 100%) decreases the braking distance, but has a negative impact on the lifespan of the motor
(especially the drive pinion and main gear).
c) Resetting the speed controller
Use this function to reset all configured settings to the factory defaults (see grey markings in the table in chapter 10. b).
Proceed as follows:
•
Switch on the transmitter. Leave the throttle/brake lever in the neutral position, do not move it.
•
Turn on the speed controller by moving the slide switch in the direction of the setup button. The vehicle should now
be ready for operation, no LED will light up on the speed controller.
• Hold down the setup button until the red and greed LEDs start to flash.
• Now turn off the speed controller by setting the slide switch to the "OFF" position; see figure in chapter 10. a) or b).
All settings will then be reset to their default values; see table in chapter 10. b).
Refer to sections 10. a) and b) for instructions on how to reprogram the speed controller.
Important!
When using LiPo drive batteries, check the default setting of the speed controller to see whether the under-
voltage protection is activated (normally 3.2 V per cell). If undervoltage detection is switched off, the LiPo
rechargeable battery may be permanently damaged due to deep discharge.
When using NiMH drive batteries, you should switch off undervoltage detection or set it to a lower value
than for LiPo rechargeable batteries, as described in section 10. b), function #3.
