I. PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Carefully remove the appliance and its accessories from the packaging.
Dispose of all packaging materials. Keep all warning labels, including
serial number identification label located on the housing. The absence
of the serial number will deprive you of your warranty benefits!
Wipe the housing of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Wash the bowl with
warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Odor on first use of the
appliance is normal and does not indicate malfunction. In such case, clean
the device.
CAUTION! Do not use the appliance in case of any malfunctions.
After transporting or storing at low temperatures allow the appliance
to stay at room temperature for at least 2 hours before using.
II. OPERATING THE ELECTRIC PRESSURE
COOKER
Place the appliance on a flat, stable, and hard surface away from wallpa-
per, decorative coatings, or any other objects or cabinets that could be
damaged by steam, humidity, or high temperatures.
Before operating, make sure that the outer and inner parts of the appli-
ance have no dents, cracks or any other visible damages. There should
not be any obstructions between heating element and the bowl.
Opening/Closing the Lid
Locking lid hermetically seals the device building up high pressure inside
the chamber of the electric pressure cooker. When the pressure inside the
appliance rises to a point greater than atmospheric, the lid is automati-
cally locked. If the lid is difficult to open after cooking, this indicates that
the electric pressure cooker is still pressurized. Open the steam release
valve and release the pressure.
To lock the lid:
• Evenly place the lid on the device aligning its rim with the line, as
shown.
• Firmly turn the lid clockwise to secure.
CAUTION! Before opening the lid, make sure that the steam release
valve is open and not releasing steam. During use the appliance
becomes hot! Do not touch metal parts of the lid during or immediately
after cooking. To open the lid, use lid handle only. Do not lift the
device by the lid handle! Use carrying handles located on the sides
of the housing to lift or move the unit.
Steam Valve
The steam release valve is located on the lid. Select one of the two posi-
tions depending on required cooking method. If the steam valve is:
• in
CLOSED
position – the until cooks under high pressure (PRESSURE
COOKER mode);
• in
OPEN
position — the unit cooks under normal pressure (MULTI-
COOKER mode).
