Electrostatic discharges must be avoided with XLR connectors in order to prevent
damages to the relays in the signal path.
It is sufficient that the user "earths" himself, i.e. to establish contact with ground, before
connecting a cable to the R&S UPZ.
The busbars of the R&S UPZ allow several switchers to be interconnected to form a
large system. The signal lines at the rear of the R&S UPZ are interconnected via the
XLR connectors according to

As shown in
, the signals of several are combined at the rear-panel XLR
connectors. These connectors are equivalent to busbar connectors A and B on the
R&S UPZ front panel. The two switchers directly connected to the Audio Analyzer can
therefore be connected to the device from the front. For the control line connections
