Reattach the bottom cover by tightening the 16 screws that secure the bottom cover to the chassis.
When refitting the bottom cover to the chassis, check the EMI gasket (19) to ensure that it is
undamaged and properly seated.
6-5.2.2
Control Panel Assembly (A5) (SS-4100071-501) Removal/Replacement.
Remove/replace the control panel assembly (A5) as follows:
a.
Loosen the eight captive screws securing the control panel (29, Figure 7-2) to the tactical repeater
chassis (13).
b.
Pull the control panel straight out from the chassis.
c.
To replace, reverse the above steps.

15 Watt Power Amplifier Assembly (A6) (SS-4100853-501) Removal/Replacement.
Remove/replace the power amplifier (PA) assembly (A6) as follows:
a.
Place the tactical repeater upside down.
b.
Remove the tactical repeater bottom cover.
c.
Pull clamps away from connector on J4 on parent board. Remove connector of amplifier control cable
assembly (A6W1).
d.
Turn tactical repeater over; leave cover off.
e.
The 15 watt power amplifier assembly (A6) (1, Figure 7-2) is mounted on the top of the tactical repeater
chassis (13). First, unscrew the 20 captive screws (2, Figure 7-3) that hold the PA assembly to the
chassis. Grasp one of the heatsink fins and slightly raise the front end of the PA assembly.
f.
Unscrew the cable connector holding the coaxial RF cable assembly (W4) (39, Figure 7-2) to the RF
Out (J4) connection on the PA assembly and pull the cable from the connection.
g.
Detach the amplifier power cable assembly (W9)(14) from the DC In (FL1) and GND (E9) connections
on the PA assembly.
h.
Remove the screws (42) holding the two cable clamps (44) onto the PA assembly and remove the cable
clamps and cables W9 and W4.
i.
Raise the PA assembly to allow access to the back of the PA assembly. Disconnect the amplifier
control cable assembly (A6W1)(3) from J4 on the parent board.
j.
Unscrew the cable connector holding the coaxial RF cable assembly (W3)(12) to the RF IN/OUT (J2)
connection on the assembly and pull cable W3 from the connection.
k.
Lift the 15 watt power amplifier assembly from the tactical repeater unit.
l.
To replace, reverse the above steps.
