Replacing an Expansion Card in Riser 1
This section describes how to remove and replace an expansion card in expansion card riser 1. The
following cards are located in riser 1 (see
Figure 54 on page 95 ):
Slot 1 (top) No card
Slot 2 (middle) Dual port 12 Gb SAS card (Dell)
Slot 3 (bottom) Dual port 12 Gb SAS card (Dell)
Caution: Use appropriate ESD precautions, including the use of a grounding strap, when performing
this procedure.

To remove a failed expansion card from riser 1:
1. Shut down the system (see Turning Off the DXi6900 G2 on page 23 ).
2. Remove the Node cover (see Opening and Closing the Node on page 64 ).
3. Disconnect any cables connected to the expansion card.
