Caution:
To enable encryption on the new PERC H730 controller, you will need the passphrase and
Security Key ID used to enable Data-at-Rest Encryption on the DXi6900 G2. These are found in the
PERC XML file (
EncryptionInfo-H710-a0.xml
). In addition, the customer should have created a
Data-at-Rest Recovery File. The passphrase is contained in the recovery file. Note that accessing the
recovery file requires the password used at the time the file was created.
1. In the remote management console, check the Data-at-Rest Encryption status on the
Home
page (see
).

If the status is
Enabled
, you
must
enable the encryption keys on the PERC H730 controller. Obtain
the Data-at-Rest Encryption passphrase from the customer, and continue with this procedure.

If the status is
Disabled
, you do not need to enable the encryption keys on the PERC H730
controller. Skip the rest of this procedure.

2. Connect to the system node via the iDRAC port and launch the Virtual Console Viewer (see
to the System Node Using the iDRAC Port on page 30
).
3. Boot the system.
4. During the boot process, press <
Ctrl+R>
when prompted to enter the PERC HH730 RAID controller
BIOS.
5. In the RAID BIOS, navigate to the
VD Mgmt
screen and select
PERC H730 Mini
).

Some of the following illustrations show a PERC H700 controller instead of a PERC
H710/H730. The procedure is the same for both.
