Removing a Failed Integrated Storage Controller 

To remove the integrated storage controller from the DXi6900 G2 Node:

1. Shut down the system  (see 

Turning Off the DXi6900 G2 on page 23

).

2. Remove the Node cover (see 

Opening and Closing the Node on page 64

).

3. Remove the expansion card riser 1 (see 

Replacing an Expansion Card in Riser 1 on page 98

).

4. Loosen the screws that secure the integrated controller cable to the integrated storage-controller card 

connector on the system board (see 

Figure 63 on the next page

).

5. Lift the integrated storage controller cable out.

6. Angle the card so that the other end of the card disengages from the storage controller card holder on 

the system board.

7. Lift the card out of the chassis.
