If the unit did take GPS locations, please reposition magnet around the green
or blue dot and repeat until the unit no longer gains a fix during the quick test.

Go to the settings page and scroll down to the bottom of the page and be sure
that the box titled
Repeat GPS Minutes
has no value listed. If there is a
value listed, change it to zero and click the
Write All
button at the top of this
screen.

In the
Service
options
box on the lower left side of the screen click
CLEAR
CALENDAR
.

Go to the calendar page and click Calendar info in the bottom right of the
screen. If the third line down says “Calendar ERROR or not present!!” then
your calendar has successfully been cleared and no GPS attempts are
scheduled and the magnet will keep the GPS off.

Unplug the USB cable.

To turn off the transmitter tune the frequency into your VHF receiver and
replace the magnet on the VHF portion of the device. Be sure to listen to the
receiver so that you can confirm that the transmitter beacon has stopped.
Color Coding and Magnet placement
All GPS devices built after June of 2010 include a color coordinated labeling system to
identify the correct location to replace the magnet when preparing the GPS for storage.
Note:
As of May 2012, all backpack GPS units will receive a small white stripe
indicating the placement of the GPS antenna. This white stripe must be visible and
facing the sky when mounted on the animal or during testing to ensure receiving good
GPS data results.

With a user replaceable battery
1.
Remove any RTV from the connection between the battery and the GPS.
2.
Unplug the battery. The GPS will no longer be able to attempt fixes and is
safe for storage.
