The programming of your GPS is done through the Collar SW program. To program the
GPS you will need to open Collar SW and navigate to the settings page. On the settings
page you will find a text box labeled
manual command entry
. It is in this box where you
will enter in the programming commands.
Programming explained
To program the solar GPS you will need to enter in a command into the manual
command entry box. The command will look something like this:
*r*s*XYYYYZZZZ
X
= the time setting to change D for the day setting, N for the night setting, and Z for the
day night interval.
YYYY
= For D or N it is the interval in minutes between fixes for the MIDDLE state
and for N it is the start time for night.
ZZZZ
= For D or N it is the interval in minutes between fixes for the FULL state and for
N it is the end time for night.
Programming examples
Day settings:
*r*s*D
0120
0015 – With this command the GPS will attempt a fix every 120 minutes
when the battery is partially charged and every 15 minutes when fully charged.
Night settings:
*r*s*N
0240
0060 – This sets the GPS to attempt a fixes every 240 minutes with a
partially charged battery and 60 minutes with a full battery.
Day-Night interval:
*r*s*Z
1830
0800 – This sets the nighttime to begin at 18:30 and end at 08:00.
To disable Night Mode:
*r*s*Z00000000 – This will disable the night mode setting, letting your GPS day mode
schedule run 24 hours a day
Important Notes
•
If the GPS loses it’s time it will assume that it is currently daytime until the GPS
acquires another fix and correctly sets the time.
•
Do not schedule more than 1 fix per hour in middle mode or more than every 10
minutes in full mode.
•
It takes a lot of sun and minimal GPS attempts to have a unit which is able to
charge to the level of Full mode. Because of this, please know that Middle mode
is what the unit will typically be operating in.
