xx is the number of skips until the unit is forced to take a GPS position. This may
be set from 01 to 99.
Example
:
*m*S05
-performs 5 skips before taking a GPS position
*m*S48
- performs 48 skips before taking a GPS position
*m*S00
- disables this feature
This setting can be confirmed by navigating to the Calendar tab and pressing the
Calendar info button in the bottom right. The box shown below will be displayed and as
you can see, the bottom line reflects changes to the Smart GPS Skip function. In this
example, you see S(5) which indicates the GPS unit is set to skip for five GPS attempts at
maximum before being forced to turn on and attempt GPS fix.
