In addition to working with its internal sample-based engine, Polyend Play is designed to be a
powerful and immediate MIDI sequencer. It is designed to be the brain of your hardware and
software-based setups. Each track can have a separate set of MIDI values. For example, one
track can control your drum machine, while another controls a synthesizer.
Use the Shift + Pattern key combo to toggle between audio and MIDI tracks. In this mode,
you’ll notice that the function pads will change color from green to violet. All sequencing
operations of the audio tracks are available in MIDI tracks as well.
You can choose which CCs are mapped to the particular knobs for each MIDI track
independently. Further, you can output chords, program and bank changes, pitch bend, clock,
and other communications. You can also use MIDI input to enter notes to the sequencer, and
even record them polyphonically on the fly.
In the MIDI sequencing mode, the following MIDI value parameters can be mapped to the
steps with the use of the following knobs:
The
Note/Microtune
knob serves as a controller for
Tune/Pitchbend
.
Volume/Panning
knob controls MIDI
Note Velocity/Note length
.
Be aware that while MIDI note length equals one step at the global tempo, the
apparent playback speed will be affected by changes made to the individual track
