5.4.1.3 cancel the distress auto procedure
Prior to acknowledgement the sending distress procedure can not be termi -
nated either by the operator or the equipment; it may only be cancelled as de -
scribed as below procedure. Distress cancel call includes DSC and voice. Can -
cellation of a distress alert shall only be possible prior to acknowledgement.
When complete the send DISTR procedure, radio will display as below:

busy. Distress call is sent from channel 70 should delay 1s, When Distress is
sent, the acoustic alarm goes to 2s ,and screen will display same as below:
NOTE: calculating the time to an automated resending of the attempt
(random, between 3,5 min and 4,5 min); This prudence should only ter -
minate by received ACk or received distress cancel call.
6. During the distress call sequence, the radio simultaneously watches chan -
nel 70 for a DSC acknowledgement or distress cancel call and Channel 16.
7. When the distress call is acknowledged, the acoustic alarm stops and the
radio returns to normal operation on channel 16, with high power relay to
the connected station via the microphone.
8. If no acknowledgement is received, radio retransmits the Distress call at
random intervals of 3.5 to 4.5 minutes until a response is received or a
distress cancel call was received.
