(Figure 5-17). Check that plate is seated to the right. Obtain sharp focus of the scratch on
the focal plane.
d. Set the aperture to the smallest number (largest opening).

g. Trip and tape the shutter release into the hand grip to keep the shutter open.
4. Measure collimation tracking error at near distance for each lens.
a. Sight through the focal plane loupe and aim camera at the tape on The Reporter aiming
and framing target.
b. Obtain sharpest focus of each lens of the tape target image through the focal plane loupe.
Mark with a pencil this location on the distance scale of each lens, as shown in
Figure 5-19.
