Figure 4.26
If your IT-08 functions properly, USB-port cable is connected correctly, and the
software to be downloaded is compatible with the Meter hardware, the process of program
download onto your Meter will automatically start, and its progress will be indicated on the
screen. After the download is over, the pop-up window will announce that the task has
been successfully completed. The IT-081 will reboot and start operating similar to when it
has been powered up.
CAUTION
Do not interrupt the loading process. This can lead to malfunction of the Meter.
But, if this does occur, repeat the process of program update.
4.7.3. Updating Software from Removable Module
The device features the possibility of saving the firmware into the memory of the
Removable Module. The firmware is saved to the Removable Module automatically in the
process of the Base Unit firmware updating from PC. Further on, when another
Removable Module is plugged into the Base Unit, the device will automatically load the
firmware from this Module in case the device has been operating with the Module of
another type or if the versions of the Removable Module applications are different. The
device will indicate the firmware loading process from the Removable Module by
messages on the screen. After the firmware loading is finished, the device switches to the
normal operating mode.
4.8. Battery Operation
The IT-081 is powered by a built-in power source with 6 NiMH AA batteries of
14.5x49.5 mm dimensions and no less than 2100 mAh capacity.
To determine the residual capacity of the batteries, use the Self-test program of the
Meter (see Section 4.5.1). When the effective charge level of the battery drops to a critical
point, you will hear the warning beep. This signifies that the time of operation until total
battery discharge is approximately 5 minutes.
To charge the batteries in an appropriate charger, remove IT-081 from its Carrying
Case. Make sure the Meter is switched off. Open the cover of the battery compartment.
Carefully remove the batteries. The batteries must be charged in a charger, which is
appropriate to the type of the batteries you are using.
When installing the batteries into the battery compartment, make sure that the
polarity of batteries is correct. Close the battery compartment.
