To enable or disable VGA mode
Slide switch 1 on DIP switch S2 into the ON position to
enable VGA mode or into the OFF position to disable it.
This table shows the correct position for all four switches on
DIP switch S2 by platform.
Windows system.
Enable VGA on the M2 board when
you use it as the VGA console. (See page 72 for setting
DIP switch S1 to boot your computer into a resolution
supported by your display.) Disable VGA on the board
in these two cases:
• When you use the M2 board with an existing VGA board
• When you use multiple M2 boards (Enable VGA on the
first M2 board you install and disable it on the additional
boards you install.)
Sun PCI workstation.
Disable VGA on
all
M2 boards (slide
switch 1 into the OFF position). The M2 board cannot operate
as a VGA board in a Sun PCI workstation.
Also slide switch 2 into the ON position to enable EPROM;
this allows you to change the display resolution through the
Solaris driver.

When you install the M2 board into a system with an
existing VGA board, only one of the two can support the
Windows operating system. You can run Windows on
either board, but not on both boards simultaneously.
