Panning/scrolling and screen position
The M2 package accepts these new environment variables that
govern panning/scrolling behavior and screen position in
stereo mode:
• M2_STEREO_PAN
• M2_STEREO_NO_PAN_ZONE
• M2_STEREO_SCREEN_POSITION
M2_STEREO_PAN variable
The
M2_STEREO_PAN
variable enables panning and scrolling for
your stereo display. If bit zero (0) of the
M2_STEREO_PAN
variable
is set, the stereo screen can pan within the framebuffer in both the
x
and
y
directions.
For this reason, the rightmost snap point may not allow the right
edge of the framebuffer to be shown. To display the right edge of
the screen, set bit one (1) of the
M2_STEREO_PAN
environment
variable. The snapping may also cause a portion of the wrapped-
around left edge of the framebuffer to display.
M2_STEREO_NO_PAN_ZONE variable
The
M2_STEREO_NO_PAN_ZONE
variable sets zones at each
corner of the visible area through which the cursor can pass
without panning or scrolling the screen. Use this variable to
set the size of the zones. The default setting is 100 pixels, which
enables the cursor to exit the visible area within 100 pixels of each
corner without panning or scrolling. When this variable is set to
zero (0), the cursor cannot exit the visible area without causing
panning or scrolling.
Horizontally, the screen can be placed only at multiples of
64 pixels from
x=0
.
