3. You may be using your paper incorrectly.
• Store your Recording Paper in a stable environment, avoiding
extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Load paper into the paper supply areas carefully. If a page is folded
or wrinkled, remove it.
• Print on the correct side of the paper. Most paper manufacturers
place an arrow on the end of the paper ream wrap to specify which
side of the page is correct side for printing. If you are having
problems, remove the paper stack from the tray, rotate it 180 degrees,
turn it over, and then place it back in the tray.
4. Clean the Printer every time the Imaging Cartridge is replaced to prevent toner
build-up inside the paper path. See Section 8.6.2 for more information.
5. Very frequent jamming may indicate that you should have your Model 9930
serviced. Please call the Pitney Bowes Diagnostic Center listed in the back
of this Guide.
If the Recording Paper can't feed properly and a paper jam is detected, the
message in the display will read "PRINTER MISFEED". You must clear the
misfed paper before continuing. The Model 9930 will automatically return to the
System Ready Mode after the paper has been cleared.
It is possible for more than one sheet of paper to be caught in the unit during a
paper jam, so check for more than one page. Paper jams occur most often in the
paper pick-up area and fuser roller area of the unit.
When clearing jams, remember to:
• Remove all jammed paper very carefully. Avoid tearing the page to
ensure you remove it all.
• Keep your fingers away from the hot fuser roller.
• If the page tears as you remove it, check inside the unit for small
pieces of paper and make sure you remove all of them before
proceeding.
