number / Can’t play disc .
• Allow time fo r any condensation inside the p laye r to eva p o r ate. Avoid using the
p laye r nea r an ai r -conditioning unit.

• Check the manual of the TV/monito r to make su r e the settings a r e co rr ect.
• If the Progressive setting is selected and you have used com p onent video cables
to connect a TV that is not com p atible with a pr og r essive scan signal, you will not
be able to see any p ictu r e at all. With you r TV connected using eithe r the
com p osite o r S-video te r minals, change the Component Out setting to Interlace
(see Video Output settings on p age 30).

• This system uses co p y- pr otection technology which may pr event r eco r ding o r
cause p ictu r e pr oblems when connected th r ough a VCR o r AV selecto r . This is not

• This p laye r is com p atible with Mac r o-Vision System co p y gua r d. Some discs
include a co p y pr evention signal, and when this ty p e of disc is p layed back, st r i p es
etc., may a pp ea r on some sections of the p ictu r e de p ending on the TV. This is not a
malfunction.
• Discs
r es p ond diffe r ently to p a r ticula r p laye r functions. This may r esult in the
sc r een becoming black fo r a b r ief instant o r shaking slightly when the function is
executed. These pr oblems a r e la r gely due to diffe r ences between discs and disc
content and a r e not malfunctions of this p laye r .
