Selecting the Surr Back system
The surround back terminals can be used for bi-amping,
Speaker B and ZONE 2 connections, in addition to for the
surround back speakers. Make this setting according to
the application.
ZONE 2 setup
With these connections you can simultaneously enjoy
5.1-channel surround sound in the main zone with stereo
playback on another component in ZONE 2.

Connect a pair of speakers to the surround back
speaker terminals.

Speaker B setup
You can listen to stereo playback in another room.

Bi-Amping setup
Bi-amping connection of the front speakers for high
sound quality with 5.1-channel surround sound.

and surround back speaker terminals.

About the audio connection
There are several types of audio input and output
terminals on this receiver. The receiver selects the first
available signal in the following order when you choose
AUTO
as the input signal:
• With an HDMI cable, video and audio signals can be
transferred in high quality over a single cable.
CAUTION
• When connecting optical cables, be careful when
inserting the plug not to damage the shutter
protecting the optical socket.
• When storing optical cable, coil loosely. The cable
may be damaged if bent around sharp corners.
