Can’t play a disc
recorded using this
recorder on another
player
• If the disc was r eco r ded in DVD-R/-RW (Video mode) o r DVD+R,
make su r e that it’s finalized ( p age 49).
• Some p laye r s will not p lay r eco r dable DVD discs, even when
r eco r ded in DVD-R/-RW (Video mode) o r DVD+R and finalized.
• If the disc was r eco r ded in VR mode, the othe r p laye r must be
s p ecifically RW com p atible in o r de r to p lay it ( p age 8).
• Discs r eco r ded with co p y-once mate r ial cannot be p layed on non-
CPRM com p atible p laye r s ( p age 36).
• DVD+RW discs containing only a small amount of r eco r ded
mate r ial may not p lay on othe r p laye r s. Finalize the disc and t r y again.
• DVD-RAM discs can only be p layed on DVD-RAM com p atible
p laye r s.

• Check the limits on the numbe r of titles and cha p te r s on a disc:
– HDD: 999 titles
– VR mode: 99 titles, 999 cha
p te r s p e r disc
– Video mode disc: 99 titles p e r disc, 99 cha p te r s p e r title
– DVD+R/+RW: 49 titles p e r disc, 99 cha p te r s p e r title (max
254 cha p te r s p e r disc)
• Check that the sou r ce you a r e t r ying to r eco r d is not co p y pr otected.
• Fo r a VR fo r matted disc, check that the disc isn’t locked ( p age 107).
• The p owe r may have failed du r ing r eco r ding.
Timer programme

successfully • When setting the r eco r ding channel, make su r e you set the
r eco r de r ’s built-in TV tune r , not the TV’s built-in tune r .
• When r eco r ding to a DVD-R/-RW (Video mode) o r DVD+R/+RW,
pr og r ammes that a r e co p y-once pr otected cannot be r eco r ded. Use a
VR mode fo r matted disc fo r co p y-once mate r ial ( p age 36).
• Two time r pr og r ammes may have ove r la pp ed, in which case only the
ea r lie r one will r eco r d com p letely.
• The p owe r may have failed du r ing r eco r ding.

• A backu p batte r y inside the r eco r de r kee p s the clock and othe r
settings f r om being r eset when the r e is no p owe r to the r eco r de r . Afte r
un p lugging o r a p owe r failu r e, the batte r y kee p s all settings fo r some
five yea r s f r om the date it was shi pp ed f r om the facto r y. Reset the
clock and othe r r eco r de r settings to use the r eco r de r again.
