The Initial Setup menu
Using the Initial Setup menu
The Initial Setu p menu is whe r e you can set va r ious r eco r de r o p tions fo r sound, p ictu r e,
language and so on.
Some settings can only be changed when the r eco r de r is sto pp ed. Du r ing p layback and
r eco r ding these settings a r e g r ayed out in the Initial Setu p menu.
Exce p t fo r the Setu p Navigato r , menu sc r eens a r e exited automatically afte r 20 minutes of
inactivity.
• Press HOME MENU and select ‘Setup’ > ‘Initial Setup’.
In the table below, the default option is marked with a •.
Setting Options Explanation
Basic
Clock Setting Auto
Set the channel that b r oadcasts a clock signal and the clock
will be set automatically.
Manual • If the r e is no channel that b r oadcasts a clock signal in you r
a r ea, you can set the time and date manually.
The clock must be set in order to use timer recording.
HELP Setting On • Switches on the automatic Hel p sc r eens fo r GUI dis p lays.
Off Switches off the automatic Hel p sc r eens fo r GUI dis p lays.

sc r een.)

Tuner
Auto Channel
Setting Antenna •
Select if you r eceive channels f r om an antenna. It takes a few
moments fo r the auto tuning to com p lete.
Cable
Select if you r eceive channels via cable. It takes a few
moments fo r the auto tuning to com p lete.
Manual CH
Setting Next Screen
P r oceed to the next sc r een if you need to adjust any of the
settings made by auto tuning.
• Change channel
pr esets using the
C/–
buttons.
• To ski p the dis p layed channel (because the r e is no station
assigned to that channel), change the Skip setting to On .
• To manually fine tune the channel, change the AFT setting
to Off then adjust the Level setting.
