Check safety light grid
Make sure that there are no objects in front
of the safety light grid (e.g. trailing cable,
crossbeams, struts, covers).
Make sure that there are no transparent ma-
terials between the monitored protected
field and the safety light grid (e.g. glass
panel).
Are all the mechanical connections on the
safety light grid attached correctly?
Are all the electrical connections to the
safety light grid wired correctly?
7
Check start/reset interlock
Check control device (e.g. PITenable, PIT-
jog).
Is there a control device to release the start/
restart interlock?
Is the control device positioned correctly?
Is the control device installed and wired cor-
rectly?
8
Check the effectiveness of the safety
light grid during the hazardous move-
ment
Is the safety light grid effective throughout
the whole of the plant/machine's hazardous
movement?
9
Check the output circuitry of the pro-
grammable safety and control system
Have the outputs that have been defined as
OSSDs been incorporated in accordance
with the required category?
Are the switching elements that are connec-
ted to the outputs (e.g. valves, contactors)
monitored via feedback loops?
Does the wiring of the outputs match the cir-
cuit diagram?
10
Switch on safety light grid
When you switch on, is it necessary to oper-
ate the control device for the start-up inter-
lock before the plant/machine can start up?
11
Switch off safety light grid
Is the hazardous movement stopped imme-
diately when you switch off?
