5.3.3 DCC Configuration
This menu allows you to change settings for DCC operation.
„DCC Address“
This is where you enter a DCC address for the car to access it when it is running on a DCC layout. The factory
default address is 50. Potential addresses range from 1 to 9999. After your car is registered into your DCC
system, it can be controlled using your DCC throttle with Function keys 0 – 3.
Function key assignment:
F0 active: Switches off the display of the car
F1 (momentary): Scrolls car display one page to the left
F2 (momentary): Scrolls car display one page to the right
F3 (press 3 times within 5 seconds): Clears distance counter
Note:
Receiving DCC data on 2-rail DC track is only possible with #55050 and on 3-rail AC track with #55060. In both cases, the layout must be
DCC-operated. There is no feedback from the SmartMeasure Car through the track.
„Loco Address“ (sniffer address)
The PIKO SmartMeasure Car can ”listen” to a locomotive’s DCC address and monitor the unit’s performance to diagnose any problems it might
be experiencing. This can be done in conjunction with PIKO Analyst (55051) software. By default, the sniffer address is “3”.
„Auto“
“Auto” is the same function as described in Section 4.2.3. Loco Address autodetect. The SmartMeasure Car monitors a locomotive through its
sniffer address when this function is activated. It is activated by selecting the locomotive on your DCC throttle and pressing F0 three times in
quick succession. When you want to monitor a different locomotive, you select it on your throttle and again press F0 three times quickly. Now the
new locomotive will be monitored. The process of automatic locomotive detection is called “toggling.”
